Helldivers 2 celebrated a moral victory last week when the community made the collective decision to save scores of innocent Super Earth children instead of unlocking a new stratagem. Taking strike three on the Anti-Tank Mines suggests we really must not care about new forms of minefields, but it’s also a sign that the Helldivers player base has a soft spot for kids. Well, human kids.
In a cruel and unfortunately funny inversion of fates, Super Earth’s newest major order is to wipe millions of Terminid children off the face of the galaxy.
“Reduce the Terminid population and clear planets for citizen settlement, utilizing the new Hive Breaker Drill to cleanse their nurseries,” reads the major order.
That Hive Breaker Drill is the subject of a new…
The most powerful weapon in Agent 47’s armoury isn’t in his armoury at all. It’s adjacent to it: just down the hall and off to the side, where you will find the tool that’s dispatched more scoundrels than any other: The toilet.
If you play like me, anyway. I don’t know about you, but my number one Hitman strat is loading myself with enough emetic to kill a horse and absolutely nothing else. Find a drink or snack tray your target likes to stop at, dribble some poison on it, follow them to the bathroom, drown ’em, done.
Problem is, of course, that those bathrooms can be so far away, or else your target decides to hurl into a nearby bin like a barbarian. Either way, it interferes with your ability to get onto more important Hitman business. That’s why an innovative m…
Just one day after it came to light that Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland was arrested on charges of domestic violence and false imprisonment in 2020, Kotaku revealed that the studio he founded, Squanch Games, was sued by a former employee over sexual harassment.
The lawsuit alleged that designer Sarah Doukakos was repeatedly harassed by a supervisor, technical director Jeff Dixon, and that Doukakos’ numerous formal complaints were ignored by management. The lawsuit singles out then-CEO Tanya Watson, who co-founded the company with Roiland, as having concertedly ignored and downplayed Doukakos’ complaints. The lawsuit further alleged that Doukakos was fired in retaliation for her complaints, and that her final paycheck was withheld pending her signing a liability release.

The long-running lawsuit between Epic and Google has taken a surprising turn because, well, Epic seems to have won. After a brief deliberation, a jury has decided that Google has in fact engaged in anti-competitive behavior in order to establish a monopoly on Android app distribution and billing services.
The full verdict, available via CourtListener, is an across-the-board win for Epic: The jury found that Epic proved “the existence of a relevant antitrust market,” that Google “wilfully acquired or maintained monopoly power by engaging in anticompetitive conduct” in that market, and that Epic suffered damages as a result.
That outcome stands in sharp contrast to the 2021 ruling in Epic’s lawsuit against Apple, which went almost entirely Apple’s way, including in the declara…
Once Human developer Starry Studio has teased the first big update coming to the open world survival game, which will include new PvP and PvE modes and “a new northern mountain region, monsters, and challenges.” First things first, though, an apology: It seems that a recent maintenance update broke numerous items in the game and caused the demolition of a whole bunch of player houses.
The problem came to light shortly after the rollout of a patch on July 18: Players on Reddit began complaining about items and bases—sometimes just parts, sometimes the whole thing—simply disappearing. It didn’t take long to figure out that something, somewhere, had gone very wrong.
did anyone else’s house got disemboweled after the patch??? from r/OnceH…
With the sci-fi RPG epic Starfield now just over a month away, Bethesda Softworks has released The Settled Systems – A Starfield Animated Anthology, a trio of brief animes offering a look at life in three of the game’s biggest cities—and it’s got some fans hoping that maybe Todd Howard has been holding something back.
The videos don’t reveal much about what we can look forward to in the game, but the presence of mechs in the Where Hope is Built episode has fans in the Starfield subreddit wondering if they’ll be able to do some blasting and slugging with giant fighting robots at some point. Todd Howard has previously said there will be no land vehicles in the game, which seems clear enough, but hope dies hard, especially since there was also a mech tease in the official…
While we wait for official word from either AMD or Bethesda on whether Starfield is going to be open to benefiting from DLSS support, professional modder, PureDark, has seemingly announced their intention to get it into the game before it’s even fully released.
With AMD announcing its partnership with Bethesda for Starfield there has been quite the reaction from the gaming community over a perceived block on the developers adding in DLSS support for Nvidia users. The suggestion is that part of the partnership requires the exclusive use of AMD’s own FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), blocking the likes of DLSS and Intel’s XeSS from being added to partner games.
This is something AMD has avoided questioning about—and most recently when we’ve specifically asked for commen…
At the Meta Connect Keynote, it wasn’t all VR headsets and Snoop Dogg-powered AIs. Meta is looking to turn everyone into an IRL streamer by announcing the new Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses that will let wearers livestream to their followers and allow for some first-person POV filming.
The Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are an upgrade from Ray-Ban’s Stories smart glasses that never quite took off because of poor battery life and recording capabilities. The new feature that will interest streamers and content creators is the ability to livestream directly to Instagram and Facebook Live hands-free. Comments will appear to you, or you can have them read aloud to you by the glasses.
Meta did a short bit with Ferrari F1 driver Charles LeClerc livestreaming a go-kart session to his millio…

Wordle really made me work for the answer today. Every new line seemed to throw up grey letters more than anything else, and the few greens I had uncovered weren’t especially helpful. It took a fresh approach and just a slight dash of mild panic to find today’s Wordle answer.
